The Bible says that bad fruit looks like these things: paying more attention to everything else but God (that’s idolatry), hating people, not getting along, being dishonest, wanting what others have (jealousy), being angry, being selfish (only thinking of you!), fighting, complaining, arguing, and using your tongue for evil, just to name a few. Īfter Drizzt studied under Masoj Hun'ett for six months in Sorcere, Masoj acknowledged that if Drizzt had chosen to become a wizard, he would have become quite a powerful one indeed. Another example was when, during the war with King Obould Many-Arrows and his horde of orcs, Drizzt had thought Bruenor dead, and wasn't certain if his other friends were alive. In the heat of battle, when his friends seemed to be in great danger or when he was alone in the wilderness, Drizzt would occasionally lose control over himself or give in to the urges of the Hunter, such as when he went back to his homeland to prevent harm from coming to his friends. For those ten years, he came close to being completely overwhelmed by this animalistic personality, but began learning to master it when he came close to harming some svirfneblin children. ![]() The first time this happened was after Drizzt had fled from Menzoberranzan and was living in the wilds of the Underdark. On relatively rare occasions, Drizzt regressed into a bestial and instinctive state of mind that he identified as the "Hunter". Drizzt did not want his god to dictate his actions he had to agree with those actions himself. In his later years, Drizzt's goal was perfection of the body with his blades in battle. He credited Catti-brie for imparting cultural awareness and tolerance upon him. He was taciturn and terse of speech, but still polite to others. However, he was always troubled by the threat his enemies would pose to such newfound friends and he was always wary of betrayal and dangers. He was sensitive and thoughtful and longed to be accepted among others and to make friends everywhere. Personality Ī perfectionst by nature, Drizzt had high ideals and standards to which he strove to conform, though he didn't hold others to the same. He normally wore a forest-green cloak that was given to him by the Weeping Friars upon his departure to Icewind Dale, high black boots, and a necklace attached to a white unicorn head, the symbol of his goddess, Mielikki, the goddess of rangers. When using his infravision, the images, if held for a prolonged period of time, caused headaches and other symptoms of strain. However, many years after Drizzt first ventured onto the surface, his eyes adapted to the bright light of the world above. His vision was once accustomed to the pitch-blackness of the Underdark. His eyes were a lavender hue (quite different from the drow race's typical red, even when he used his infravision, which normally caused eyes to glow red) and seemed to glow fiercely when he was angry or determined. His handsome features were sharp and well proportioned and, like other drow, Drizzt's skin was black and his stark white hair was long, thick, and flowing. He stood about 5 feet and 4 inches (1.6 meters) tall and weighed about 130 pounds (59 kilograms). ![]() It is based on the MoCA 2.5 adapter standard - though a 3.0 is in the works - and is often used in multi-unit buildings such as apartments or hotels that have existing coaxial wiring built-in. MoCA Access is a pier-to-multipoint broadband access specification that can serve as many as 63 modems from an access point. While the previously mentioned MoCA systems are more home-based, MoCA Access focuses on a larger scale. While MoCA 2.0 and 2.0 bonded were only available as home mesh networks, 2.5 and 3.0 are or will be available for both home networks and on MoCA Access. MoCA 2.0 offered 0.5Gbps before a bonded version came out, which offered 1Gbps, followed by MoCA 2.5 with its 2.5Gbps. So far there are a few different versions of MoCA either released or in the works. Typically, that option is used in large buildings like hotels and apartment complexes. The home network version of MoCA is a point-to-point system, which means that the communication is between just two endpoints - for example, an adapter and a device. You can also have MoCA on a point-to-multipoint system, which starts at one access point and spreads out to dozens of modems. These hardwired connections improve the entire wireless system. MoCA links up to an existing coaxial system, supporting devices like gaming consoles, stationary computers, smart TVs and streaming devices, which often struggle to keep up with wireless networks, even powerful ones. It can reach throughput speeds of up to 2.5Gbps, with the next iteration of MoCA aiming to reach a whopping 10Gbps. Data moves much more quickly through MoCA. Speed: With that low latency comes an improvement in speed.Because of this reason, many find that MoCA adapters are good for gaming needs. Low latency speeds are critical for communication between devices, and MoCA offers very low latency. ![]() ![]() ![]() In some cases, hospital chaplains have ministered to families who have had more than one relative die from the virus, sometimes only weeks apart, Father Tamiian said. “We all hear the stories that it is very difficult for the families to be at home away from their loved ones.” ![]() The coronavirus pandemic has emphasized the need for chaplains to support patients’ families, who are often limited in visiting relatives in the hospital, Father Tamiian said. The chaplains also have been able to support the doctors, nurses and other staff who worry about brining the virus home with them and infecting their families, he added. “They were very much welcome and there side-by-side with the doctors offering support for the patients,” Father Tamiian said. He has been impressed that at Saint Thomas, with the support of the medical staff, the chaplains have been able to see patients. “In the beginning, it was very difficult when we didn’t have enough” personal protective equipment, said Father Tamiian, who was working at a hospital system in Southern California before coming to Saint Thomas. Despite the difficulties, he said, “being there for all of them who are affected is important.” The COVID-19 pandemic, which has affected large numbers of people and can move quickly from one person to the next, has affected the work of hospital chaplains, Father Tamiian said. The role of hospital chaplains is constantly developing as they work side-by-side with other health care professionals to address the emotional and spiritual needs of patients, families, and staff, Father Tamiian said. “For us here at Saint Thomas we continue that in the tradition of the Daughters of Charity,” who founded Saint Thomas Hospital in 1898, he said. Today’s Catholic hospitals and health care facilities continue the work of the priests and religious sisters who founded them, Father Tamiian said. “The Church has been intentional in that type of ministry to bring hope and healing to the world,” Father Tamiian said. He noted that Holy Roman Emperor Charlemagne decreed that every cathedral and monastery have a hospital attached to it, and even today 25 percent of all health care services in the world are provided by Catholic institutions. The healing ministry of Jesus has always been important for the Church, Father Tamiian said. “The ministry itself is an opportunity to lead the mission of the Church and personally to connect with that healing ministry of Jesus.” “It is a position of support and strategy development,” Father Tamiian said.Īnother aspect of the job is integrating the pastoral care education of residents and interns pursuing a ministry as a hospital chaplain, he said.īeing a hospital chaplain is “an amazing opportunity to care for people in some of the most difficult and challenging times,” Father Tamiian said.
